JOB SUMMARY

This role will be working across all our digital product areas to unify the design system for the first time in our history. You’ll be partnering with a design strategist to determine whether existing components should be common, product-specific, or brand-specific. You’ll design new components or variants that will be added to local product libraries or the core library for all products to use. You’ll use your mastery of Figma to build these components quickly using common atomic elements to connect them to the design system and auto layout to provide specs to engineers.

You’ll gain rare institutional knowledge of our broad suite of digital products and 30+ brands and grow as a designer through coaching, feedback and mentorship of our design leaders.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with a design strategist and product teams to determine whether existing components should be common, product-specific, or brand-specific
• Design new components or variants that will be added to local product libraries or the core library for all products to use.
• Build components in Figma from existing styles and common atomic-level components using auto layout tools.
• Provide specs to engineers for them to build components in React
• Structure and facilitate collaborative working sessions with cross-functional team members
• Present and clearly communicate design solutions and rationale
• Engage in critiques as well as share new learnings
• Challenge existing processes with new ways for the team to be more effective.

Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of product user interface design
• Good mix of UI, visual design, and interaction design expertise
• Prior experience working with (and/or developing) design systems or UI kits
• Collaborative, highly organized, and strong attention to detail
• Portfolio that shows solid design craft and a high degree of agility
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Mastery of Figma, especially using components, libraries, and auto layout tools
• Fluent in Jira
• Experience in Agile/SAFE
• Commerce or travel experience preferred.
