SENIOR DATABASE ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of our data and file transfer infrastructure. This role involves working with MuleSoft, Oracle databases, Salesforce, and other systems for integration and API development. The ideal candidate will provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and actively participate in business projects. This position offers the opportunity to provide training, guidance, and assistance to other developer resources, leveraging your expertise in web services, APIs, web applications, relational databases, ETL, data modeling, and architecture.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Lead MuleSoft design and development efforts.
  • Design and develop REST/SOAP APIs and Web Services.
  • Manage data/file transfer integrations, database design, and ETL processes.
  • Conduct business and system analysis to enhance data accessibility.
  • Develop and execute unit tests and test plans to ensure data integrity.
  • Explore and implement new tools and technologies relevant to database engineering.
  • Offer project task breakdowns and accurate estimations for various work efforts.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users and team members on tool usage.
  • Maintain documentation on architecture, applications, and training materials.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
  • Manage source control and ensure unit testing and deployment readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6+ years of experience in web services, APIs, web applications, relational databases, ETL, data modeling, development, or architecture.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with MuleSoft and related technologies for data and file integrations.
  • Strong background in database design and development, ideally with Oracle databases.
  • Proficient in ETL design and development processes.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and its integration capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of providing training and support to team members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
