Job Description

A leading organization is seeking a Lead UX Designer to define and deliver user experiences for complex enterprise platforms used by engineering, security, and infrastructure teams. This position focuses on creating intuitive, scalable solutions for developer tools, cloud-based systems, and security-focused applications that support critical operational environments.

The Lead UX Designer will guide product design efforts from early discovery through implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams to transform technical workflows, system behavior, and complex data into clear, efficient user experiences. The role requires strong enterprise UX expertise, systems thinking, technical fluency, and experience applying AI-enabled tools within the design process.

Responsibilities

  • Design user experiences for enterprise applications, including developer platforms, cloud infrastructure tools, and security-focused products.
  • Convert complex technical processes, architectures, and data structures into usable and productive digital experiences.
  • Lead the full design lifecycle, including research, interaction design, prototyping, testing, and validation.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and platform stakeholders to identify challenges and develop scalable solutions.
  • Apply systems-thinking principles to ensure consistency across interconnected products, tools, and services.
  • Use iterative and feedback-driven design methods to improve outcomes through experimentation and learning.
  • Guide and mentor designers while promoting best practices in accessibility, enterprise UX, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Leverage AI tools to support design activities such as research, ideation, prototyping, and content development while maintaining sound design judgment.
  • Connect design decisions to measurable business, technical, and operational objectives.
  • Influence product direction and help drive improvements that enhance usability, efficiency, and adoption.

Required Experience and Skills

  • 7+ years of professional UX design experience, including significant work on enterprise or highly technical products.
  • 5+ years applying user-centered design methodologies from discovery through implementation.
  • 5+ years of experience in at least two of the following disciplines:
    • User research
    • Interaction design
    • Visual design
  • 5+ years partnering closely with engineering teams and influencing product strategy and direction.
  • 3+ years working within agile, lean, or iterative delivery environments.
  • 2+ years designing developer tools, infrastructure platforms, security solutions, or similarly technical products.
  • 2+ years designing complex systems, cloud-based platforms, or data-intensive applications.
  • 5+ years using design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro, or comparable platforms.
  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies and design systems, including HTML, CSS, React, Angular, Material Design, or enterprise design systems.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, technical workflows, and interconnected platform ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to align design work with business goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience designing internal tools used by engineering, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or security teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience creating data visualization tools, monitoring interfaces, dashboards, or workflow-focused enterprise applications.
  • Understanding of AI and machine learning product experiences, including AI-assisted workflows.
  • Experience incorporating AI tools into design processes for research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, or content generation.
  • Experience promoting user experience practices within large technical organizations.
  • Experience mentoring designers and contributing to team growth and design excellence.
  • Knowledge of healthcare environments or other regulated industries.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Fine Arts, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
