Junior Data Engineer

Job Description

A leading organization is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to support healthcare data ingestion, transformation, and cloud-based data processing initiatives. This position focuses on building scalable data solutions, supporting integrations across cloud environments, and enabling data-driven insights through reliable backend engineering practices.

The ideal candidate has experience working with Python, SQL, and Google Cloud Platform, along with a strong foundation in data pipelines, data modeling, and distributed application design.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines that support data ingestion, transformation, and processing workflows.
• Build Python-based solutions for large-scale data processing and integration.
• Work with structured and unstructured healthcare data to support analytics and operational use cases.
• Design and enhance data models, workflows, and processing frameworks.
• Support cloud-based data integration and data movement processes using Google Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with software engineering, data, and AI teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Contribute to data quality, governance, reliability, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Support backend services and microservices that enable data platform functionality and integrations.

Required Experience and Skills

• 2–5 years of experience in data engineering.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Strong SQL skills, including data querying, transformation, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience building and maintaining ETL or ELT data pipelines.
• Knowledge of data modeling and data integration principles.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed application concepts.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
