Interface Testing Analyst

Job Description

A leading organization is seeking an Interface Testing Analyst to support validation of system integrations, data exchanges, and application interfaces. This position focuses on executing interface testing activities, documenting results, identifying defects, supporting issue resolution efforts, and ensuring the quality of data exchanges between internal and external systems.

The ideal candidate has experience with system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect management, and interface validation involving APIs, secure file transfers, and enterprise application integrations.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and testing strategies aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Perform user acceptance testing and interface testing for system integrations and data exchange processes.
• Validate the successful transmission, receipt, processing, and reconciliation of files, messages, transactions, and data exchanges.
• Review requirements, user stories, technical documentation, test data, and interface specifications prior to test execution.
• Document test results, evidence, defects, screenshots, errors, and supporting validation details.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects throughout the defect lifecycle.
• Verify business requirements and ensure delivered functionality aligns with defined business processes.
• Support regression testing, test data preparation, data conditioning, and validation activities.
• Maintain testing status, progress updates, and documentation within testing and tracking tools.
• Collaborate with business analysts, development teams, quality assurance teams, and external stakeholders to support issue resolution.
• Assist with troubleshooting integration issues involving APIs, secure file transfers, and related middleware technologies.
• Participate in testing meetings, status reviews, and project discussions.
• Communicate testing risks, blockers, dependencies, and issues in a timely manner.
• Support end-to-end validation efforts from requirements review through production readiness.

Required Experience and Skills

• Experience with system integration testing, interface testing, user acceptance testing, or related quality assurance activities.
• Ability to analyze and interpret business requirements, user stories, test scenarios, and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to clearly document testing outcomes.
• Experience with test execution, defect tracking, retesting, and issue lifecycle management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and follow-up capabilities.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, processes, and quality assurance practices.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and process improvement mindset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and related productivity tools.
• Experience using test management and defect tracking platforms.
• Ability to evaluate existing processes and recommend testing improvements.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Experience with test management tools such as ALM Octane or similar platforms.
• Experience with Salesforce or comparable case and workflow management systems.
• Familiarity with APIs, secure file transfer processes, middleware technologies, and application integration testing.
• Exposure to monitoring and log analysis tools.
• Experience supporting large-scale technology modernization programs.
• Experience within public sector, healthcare, human services, or other highly regulated environments.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least one year of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related application testing disciplines.
