JOB SUMMARY:

We are in search of a highly talented Lead Data Architect to spearhead the development and optimization of our data architecture across clinical, research, administrative, and operational domains. This pivotal role involves partnering with diverse analytics customers and project teams to design secure, reliable, and high-performing cloud data architectures. The ideal candidate will be passionate about understanding customer data needs, developing data management solutions, and promoting an institution-wide data-driven culture. Your expertise in data architecture, modeling, security, and governance will be instrumental in delivering analytics solutions that drive self-service and institutional efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Develop long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in collaboration with data users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead data architecture efforts to deliver robust and reusable data models, facilitating analytics across the institution.
  • Establish methods for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, and compliance, aiming for continuous improvement.
  • Develop standards for data ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data mapping to support the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Design data strategies for capacity planning, security, lifecycle management, scalability, backup, disaster recovery, and archiving.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of data strategies and architectures.
  • Implement tools, software, applications, and systems to support data technology goals.
  • Oversee data sourcing, movement, and quality, ensuring data integrity and supporting a single version of the truth.
  • Engage with stakeholders throughout the analytics implementation lifecycle to recommend effective data solutions.
  • Address data-related issues in system integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Five (5) years of progressive IT experience, including strong database design, data architecture, and data transformation processes.
  • Four (4) years of exclusive ETL development experience preferred.
  • Four (4) years of exclusive data architecture experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake) or Big Data technologies.
  • Expertise in data architecture concepts (data modeling, workflow management, ETL/ELT, real-time streaming).
  • Understanding of data management and governance (data quality, metadata management).
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and apply new technologies.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure/Synapse/Power BI, Databricks, Epic EHR, and Workday ERP.
  • Implementation of “lakehouse” architecture patterns using Azure Databricks and Azure DevOps deployment pipelines.
