Job Description
A leading organization is seeking a Java Backend Developer to support the enhancement and modernization of enterprise applications. This position will play a key role in the evolution of backend services, including the migration of existing functionality from Python-based applications to Java-based solutions.
The ideal candidate brings strong Java development expertise, experience working with microservices architectures, and the ability to understand complex business processes and existing codebases. Success in this role requires collaboration across technical and business teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using Java.
- Contribute to application and service migration efforts from Python-based implementations to Java.
- Design and support microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
- Analyze existing codebases and implement enhancements while maintaining system stability and compatibility.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and application functionality.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve application issues, improve performance, and support platform reliability.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and solution design activities.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Support Agile development practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Experience and Skills
- 3+ years of software development experience, with 5 to 6 years preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience developing applications with Java.
- Experience writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries.
- Knowledge of relational database concepts and data management practices.
- Experience designing and supporting microservices architectures.
- Ability to understand existing applications, business logic, and technical workflows.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working within Agile development environments.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience working with Databricks.
- Familiarity with GraphQL APIs.
- Experience using FastAPI.
- Experience supporting application modernization or technology migration initiatives.
- Exposure to both Java and Python development environments.
- Understanding of enterprise application integration and distributed systems design.
