Junior UX Writer

Job Category: Design UI/UX Jobs
Job Type: Remote

Job description

A leading organization is seeking a junior UX writer to support editorial execution for new transactional digital experiences serving both business-to-business and business-to-consumer audiences within a regulated financial services and retirement environment. The focus of this role is operationalizing approved copy by accurately mapping content from a centralized content matrix into Figma, enabling design files to serve as the primary source of truth for development teams.

This position is well suited for a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working at the intersection of UX writing, design operations, and delivery. The work emphasizes accuracy, traceability, and consistency to support efficient build and testing cycles.

Responsibilities

Content matrix mapping and editorial operations

  • Translate approved language from a centralized content matrix into Figma designs with high fidelity
  • Maintain strict alignment between the content matrix and all copy displayed in Figma, including labels, helper text, error states, confirmations, disclosures, and transactional messaging
  • Manage version control and change tracking so teams can clearly understand what changed, when changes occurred, and why updates were made

Figma as the source of truth

  • Apply a content workflow where Figma serves as the primary reference for developers, reducing reliance on disconnected documents and manual handoffs
  • Organize and structure content in Figma to support efficient implementation, including consistent use of components, reusable patterns, and clear annotations
  • Create and maintain in-file documentation or linked guidance that explains copy usage rules, component behaviors, and content standards

Quality assurance and implementation support

  • Perform copy quality assurance within Figma to confirm:
    • Only approved and current language is used
    • Terminology is consistent across screens and user journeys
    • Spelling, grammar, and formatting are correct
    • Accessibility-friendly writing practices are followed, including plain language and clear error recovery guidance
  • Support pre-release validation by comparing implemented interfaces against Figma designs and flagging discrepancies early

Collaboration

  • Work closely with UX designers and senior UX writers to incorporate feedback and uphold editorial standards
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to clarify content questions and resolve ambiguities during delivery
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance workflows by ensuring only approved language is mapped into design files

Required experience and skills

  • One to three or more years of experience in UX writing, content design, editorial operations, design operations, or a related role
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort managing high volumes of content across many screens and states
  • Proficiency with Figma, including working with components and maintaining well-organized files
  • Ability to follow structured workflows and maintain traceability between content sources and design outputs

Preferred skills

  • Familiarity with transactional user experience patterns such as forms, errors, confirmations, and disclosures
  • Experience working in regulated environments or with strict content guidelines
  • Comfort supporting basic quality assurance processes and collaborating with engineering teams during implementation

This role contributes directly to improving consistency, reducing content-related defects, and enabling faster, more reliable design-to-development handoffs across complex transactional experiences.
