Job Description

A leading organization is seeking a Lead UX Designer, Enterprise Platforms to create user experiences for complex software products used by engineering, security, and infrastructure teams. This position focuses on designing scalable, efficient interfaces for technical platforms that support mission-critical operations within regulated environments.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in enterprise user experience design with strong systems thinking, technical fluency, and experience working closely with engineering organizations. Success in this role requires the ability to simplify complex workflows, improve productivity, and influence product direction through user-centered design practices.

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive experiences for enterprise platforms, developer tools, cloud-based systems, and security-focused applications.
• Transform technical workflows, system architectures, and large datasets into clear, efficient user interfaces.
• Lead design initiatives from research and discovery through implementation and optimization.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, prototyping, and interaction design activities.
• Partner with engineering, product, security, and platform teams to define requirements and develop scalable solutions.
• Create consistent experiences across interconnected products and services using systems-thinking principles.
• Drive iterative design practices through experimentation, user feedback, and continuous improvement.
• Develop workflows, wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation that support product development.
• Promote accessibility, usability, and responsible use of AI within enterprise applications.
• Mentor designers and contribute to UX standards, processes, and best practices.
• Align design decisions with business objectives, operational requirements, and measurable outcomes.

Required Experience and Skills

User Experience Design

• 7+ years of professional UX design experience for enterprise or technical products
• 5+ years applying user-centered design methods from discovery through implementation
• 5+ years of experience in at least two of the following areas:
  • User research
  • Interaction design
  • Visual design
• Strong portfolio demonstrating complex enterprise application design

Enterprise and Technical Platforms

• 2+ years designing developer tools, infrastructure platforms, security products, or other highly technical solutions
• 2+ years designing cloud-based platforms, data-intensive applications, or complex systems
• Ability to understand technical architectures, workflows, and operational requirements
• Strong systems-thinking and problem-solving capabilities

Collaboration and Product Development

• 5+ years partnering closely with engineering teams and influencing product direction
• 3+ years working in agile, lean, or iterative development environments
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle
• Ability to connect user experience decisions to measurable business outcomes

Design Tools and Technology

• 5+ years using design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro, or similar platforms
• Working knowledge of front-end technologies and modern design systems
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, React, Angular, or similar technologies
• Experience designing scalable component-based experiences

AI and Emerging Design Practices

• Experience designing or supporting AI-enabled user experiences and workflows
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design methods and tools
• Understanding of responsible AI principles and user-centered AI interactions
• Ability to evaluate how AI can be applied effectively within enterprise products

Leadership and Communication

• Experience mentoring designers and supporting professional development
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience advocating for UX practices within technical organizations

Preferred Experience

• Experience designing internal platforms used by engineering, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or security teams
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with monitoring systems, dashboards, observability platforms, or workflow-driven enterprise applications
• Experience designing AI-assisted workflows or AI-enabled product experiences
• Experience using AI tools for research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, or content generation
• Experience working within healthcare, pharmacy, or other regulated industries
• Experience mentoring designers and helping mature UX practices across organizations

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Fine Arts, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
