TERMINAL IT APPLICATIONS MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Terminal IT Applications Manager to lead the strategic management and enhancement of our terminal business’s application landscape and its integration with Operational Technology (OT). The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing application management, supporting automation applications, budgeting, vendor management, and identifying opportunities to enhance process efficiency through IT capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Oversee the management and strategic implementation of applications within the terminal’s landscape.
  • Analyze and identify improvement opportunities; prepare and facilitate efficiency enhancements.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop business requirement documents and technical specifications for projects focusing on optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Lead system integration, software testing, and commissioning activities within the automation application landscape.
  • Ensure application lifecycle and version management comply with production environment standards, acting as support during critical phases.
  • Guide the terminal’s operational and functional teams to identify and implement improvements to business operations and models.
  • Define and ensure vendor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met through proper Key Performance Indicator (KPI) definitions.
  • Work closely with regional platforms, business analysts, and delivery management to modernize, streamline, and standardize the tech portfolio.
  • Lead the development of root cause analyses for major incidents impacting operations and ensure deployment of identified countermeasures.
  • Collaborate with the Terminal IT Director to define the tech portfolio’s modernization, infrastructure simplification, and application rationalization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A university or higher vocational degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in terminal operations, with a preference for those with automation component experience.
  • At least three (3) years of project handling/coordination experience and process documentation, with experience in IT support organizations (Level 2 or Level 3) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of software application lifecycle and IT Service Management, with ITIL V4 Certification recommended.
  • Knowledge of application architecture design and experience with Terminal Operations Systems is a plus.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with a good understanding of the terminal operating model and the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Advanced data analysis skills and experience with Agile principles, Lean standards, and tooling.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving experience and credibility with the terminal leadership team.
