A global financial services organization is seeking an experienced Salesforce technical architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable CRM solutions. This role focuses on Salesforce Sales Cloud and Financial Services Cloud and supports enterprise initiatives across distribution, client engagement, and advisor experience.
The Salesforce technical architect partners closely with business and technology teams to shape CRM strategy, translate complex requirements into actionable architectures, and establish best practices for platform governance and delivery. This position combines hands-on technical leadership with strong business collaboration and is suited for professionals progressing from senior development roles into architecture ownership.
Responsibilities
Solution architecture and delivery
- Lead architectural design and solution development for Salesforce Sales Cloud and Financial Services Cloud initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce architectures across data models, workflows, and integrations.
- Act as platform authority to ensure governance, performance standards, and architectural guidelines are consistently applied.
Business partnership and domain leadership
- Serve as a Salesforce subject matter expert for distribution workflows, client and advisor interactions, product structures, and regulatory considerations.
- Collaborate with sales, client services, product, operations, and compliance teams to ensure CRM solutions align with real-world business processes.
- Provide strategic guidance on CRM modernization and future-state capabilities.
Technical leadership
- Guide development teams on Salesforce configuration and customization using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce Flows.
- Support platform health, including data quality, environment strategy, and security controls.
- Conduct technical reviews, mentor team members, and ensure adherence to architectural standards.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with product management, data architecture, enterprise architecture, and integration teams to align Salesforce with downstream systems such as data platforms and reporting tools.
- Support release management and DevOps activities, including CI and CD practices, environment planning, and deployment strategies.
- Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and constraints clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
Governance and best practices
- Define and maintain reusable architecture patterns, integration standards, and shared components.
- Ensure compliance with industry-standard security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Produce clear technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data models, and integration flows.
Required experience and skills
- Seven or more years of Salesforce experience, including at least three years in a Salesforce technical architect role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud and Financial Services Cloud.
- Proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flows, and core platform configuration.
- Solid understanding of Salesforce data modeling, integration patterns, APIs, and enterprise architecture concepts.
- Experience supporting Salesforce integrations and determining appropriate use of out-of-the-box functionality versus custom development.
- Background in financial services or asset management workflows, including institutional or intermediary client management and investment product structures.
- Ability to be hands-on with development when needed while providing architectural oversight.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor technical teams and collaborate effectively with IT partners.
- Proactive approach, strong ownership mindset, and commitment to continuous learning of Salesforce releases and features.
Preferred experience
- Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect certification.
- Accreditation related to Salesforce financial services solutions.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with common enterprise tools such as data platforms, marketing systems, or content enablement tools.
