Responsibilities
- Provide architectural guidance across multiple delivery teams to ensure consistent adoption of data platform patterns and engineering standards
- Participate in agile delivery activities to reinforce alignment with defined operating practices and ensure consistent execution across teams
- Review implementations across teams to identify inconsistencies, risks, and opportunities for standardization
- Offer hands-on technical guidance during active development, including direct collaboration with engineers when needed to accelerate delivery and knowledge transfer
- Guide implementation of modern data architecture practices, including layered data design, ingestion and transformation patterns, governance frameworks, and workflow orchestration
- Document reusable patterns and best practices in a concise and practical manner during active project work
- Serve as a key point of coordination between engineering teams and executive stakeholders to maintain alignment on priorities and delivery health
- Provide visibility into program performance, risks, and architectural decisions through regular updates and reviews
- Support structured program checkpoints and ensure alignment between technical execution and business objectives
- Enable long-term sustainability by promoting knowledge transfer and empowering internal teams to independently manage and evolve the data platform
Required Experience and Skills
- Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing production-grade data platforms using Databricks
- Deep understanding of layered data architecture, data ingestion strategies, transformation patterns, governance models, and workflow orchestration
- Proven experience providing architectural leadership across multiple agile delivery teams or pod-based models
- Ability to assess technical feasibility and evaluate incoming data and project requirements early in the intake process
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage both senior stakeholders and hands-on engineering teams
- Experience identifying risks, aligning technical solutions with business priorities, and driving consistent implementation across distributed teams
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments such as healthcare, financial services, life sciences, or public sector
- Background in data strategy, governance, and platform standardization
- Experience in advisory or consulting roles supporting enterprise-level platform initiatives
- Demonstrated success enabling teams to adopt standardized patterns and operate independently over time
