JOB SUMMARY: Vice President of Data Technology

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Vice President of Data Technology

  • Establish and lead the Data Engineering organization, promoting career development and performance management.
  • Identify and develop the next generation of technical and people leaders within the organization.
  • Oversee technical strategy and architecture for data integration, warehousing, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with business, engineering, security, and product teams to define data requirements and analytical needs.
  • Design and implement efficient and scalable data pipelines to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Architect and manage a comprehensive data management strategy, ensuring cohesive data storage, modeling, and integration.
  • Direct Data Operations and Engineering teams in building and maintaining data infrastructure, ensuring high-quality data management and governance.
  • Advocate for best practices in data engineering, including source code management, metadata cataloging, and ETL processes.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to set team expectations, evaluate performance, and manage compensation.
  • Continuously refine career growth and succession planning to adapt to business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Vice President of Data Technology

  • Extensive experience in leading and scaling engineering organizations, preferably in a fast-growing company.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and retain top talent.
  • Deep understanding of development processes and methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both business and technical executives effectively.
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in technology-focused organizations.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard platforms and tools, including AWS, Snowflake, Qlik, Tableau, and familiarity with both relational and non-relational databases.
