JOB SUMMARY: Senior Application Development Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Senior Application Development Analyst to join our Agile development team. This role is essential in designing, building, and implementing state-of-the-art applications that enable critical data flow from our transactional systems, driving business processes throughout our multi-billion-dollar company.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Lead the coding, testing, analysis, design, definition, development, and implementation of business applications within our Information Services department.
  • Collaborate with business staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to evaluate project requirements and processes.
  • Assess available technologies and determine appropriate solution options across computing environments.
  • Provide senior technical expertise within project teams, guiding technology decisions and solutions.
  • Translate complex business processes into effective technical processes and business system designs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Senior Application Development Analyst

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years in Database Architecture, Design, and Development.
  • Extensive experience with enterprise technological environments.
  • Experience with Financial Accounting Systems/General Ledger projects within Financial Services or Insurance industries.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL, relational databases design, query construction, and optimization, ideally with both Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Experience in defining and implementing Accounting Policy and rules for financial lifecycle-based events.
  • Proficient with data-driven projects, component architectures, Data Warehouses, and data-marts.
  • Basic UNIX/Windows OS skills.
  • Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Experience with shell scripting; CMD/PowerShell/bash or similar.
  • Development experience with automation tools, Java, C#, or Python is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of source control, e.g., Git.

  • Knowledge of Power BI data modeling, report writing, and visualization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to translate technical concepts to various audience levels.

  • Motivated to stay ahead of current technology environments and understand future technology trends.
  • Ability to think abstractly and compare similar business processes.
  • Agile Experience: Experience in fast-paced Agile environments is a plus.
