JOB SUMMARY: Director of Engineering

We are seeking a visionary Director of Engineering to lead our Software and Cloud Engineering teams. This role involves collaborating across the organization to drive the successful launch of new products and the ongoing enhancement of existing ones. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building high-performance teams and delivering scalable products. As Director of Engineering, you will cultivate a team culture that prioritizes excellence, collaboration, and innovation, enabling our clients to address their financial service needs effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Serve as the technical authority for Software and Cloud Engineering practices, aligning technical decisions with product and information security goals.
  • Define and implement best-in-class software development practices, policies, and systems to ensure high-quality, repeatable results as a Director of Engineering.
  • Oversee key performance metrics and operational efficiency for Software and Cloud Engineering teams.
  • Manage engineering execution for continuous system improvement.
  • Develop structured documentation, including presentations, process flows, root cause analyses, and status reports.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring and providing technical advice to team members.
  • Encourage open idea exchange and challenge the status quo to innovate and improve.
  • Set clear expectations for team members and hold them accountable for their results.
  • Lead recruitment, performance management, and team member evaluation.
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR to adapt career growth and succession plans according to business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Director of Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering with exposure to C-level leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience leading software development teams.
  • A successful track record of launching new software products and implementations.
  • Proficiency with SDLC and agile development methodologies; SAFe methodology experience is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in software architecture, API development, SaaS, event-driven architectures, microservices, and SOAs.
  • Expertise in AWS, containerization, orchestration systems, and web development technologies (NodeJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python; PHP and Java are a plus).
